Good morning everyone or those of you who read this, anyway.  It is Friday, July 27, 2012 and the opening ceremony for the Olympics to today.  I have watched in the past and will probably check out some of the events this time around.  I think the strength and ability of the participants are amazing.  I work out, but not like that.  Well, enjoy your day.  This is my last blog.  Thanks for being here.

Hello, everyone.

I was reading about the shooting in Colo. and in the midst of such tragedy the wife of one of the victims had a baby girl who was fine.  However, the father is still in a medically induced coma.  He had a gunshot wound to the head, has lost (I think) right eye and brain injury.  His brother said when his wife and daughter came into the room, he had a response.  Hopefully, he will recover.

In other news, a Greece olympian triple jumper was expelled for racist tweets about African immigrants.   Her initial response was "so what" in so many words, however, that changed to a long apologetic one.  Really...too late for that it seems.

Heirs of a 65 million dollar sculpture should be thankful, however, it is attached not only with 29 million dollar tax bill, but because (it’s illegal to “possess, transport, sell or otherwise convey” a bald eagle, alive or dead), they are unable to sell the artwork because a stuffed bald eagle was incoporated into it.  So, it was described to be an expensive paperweight.

Well, that's it for tidbits today....meet you at the blog one more time.

This is the last week of blogging.  I think this could be of interest if I had a specific agenda.  So, something I will consider.  Anyway...nothing really to talk about today.  I wonder what the weather will be like tomorrow.  I didn't watch the news, so I don't know.  It was so back and forth today.  Sun one minute...clouds the next.

I did read where the bus monitor who was bullied fund ended with 700,000 dollars.  Wow!  Aside from I think it was 10% fee and another charge she will still walk away with like 620,000 dollars or so.  Hopefully, she will stop working and enjoy a comfortable retirement.

Oh well, meet you at the blog two more times after today.  Good night.

It's a rainy Saturday so, I came straight home from work and baked a peach cobbler.  Well, not from scratch, but it was Mrs. Smith.  When it rains...you kinda just want to chill.

I was  tentatively going to see "Dark Knight."  It's so crazy now, you seemingly have to contemplate if the theater is safe.  It was truly a tragedy what happened in Aurora, Colo at the Friday night screening.  It is reported to be the largest mass shooting in U.S. history.  So, many wounded victims, casualties and many were still unaccounted for when I read about it last night.  Wow.

Well, anyway enjoy the remainder of your weekend.  Meet you at the blog again soon.

Not sure what to blog about this morning.  So, it will be really, really brief.  I fried some chicken this morning before work.  I know...not a breakfast food, but I wasn't feeling eggs or toast, etc.  It was good.  I know lots of people switch between what's considered normal breakfast, lunch and dinner foods.  Sometimes I eat pancakes for dinner.  Who determined the menu anyway??  Oh, well enjoy your day.  Meet you at the blog soon.

Hello everyone,

Well, I haven't had access to blog at home because comcast is way to expensive so, I was going to go with another provider, but it worked out.  However, I don't have my services fully restored yet, so thank goodness for hotspot.  I realized how much I need internet services aside from class online.  In addition, sprint service at work has an issues with reception, so this has not been my week for internet services.  So, aside from that, it was storming this evening, but let's hope it will be short and sweet.  Anyway, have a good night.

Meet you at the blog again tomorrow.

Hello,

It's Saturday night and it wind up being a nice evening.  It appeared that it was going to rain into the night, but it didn't.  Well, fellow classmates....there is one more day to the you tube video project.  I am anticipating the results.  It required more marketing than what I thought.  I'm not sure about everyone else, but mine could not be pulled up on the cell phone because of the song I attached to it.  This appeared not to be as convenient for many.  However, live and learn.  So, I will know next time....no copyright barriers.

Meet you at the blog again.

Hello everyone.

This will be short and sweet because it's pretty late and I am sleepy.  I went to Casino live on Monday which I didn't mention in my earlier week blog.  I was actually shopping in the mall.  I can't really give a lot of information about it because I was only there for about 15 minutes or so.  I'm not a gambler so, I played the penny machine and then I left.  I didn't check out the whole facility.  However, it seems like a paradise for those who like slot machines.  There were plenty.  I would probably stop by again....one day in the future.

Oh, well I have no news tidbits for tonight.  Meet you at the blog again soon.  Good night.

What to blog about.....let's see.  It was a gorgeous day, but I heard a little thunder tonigh, but don't think it has rained.  Well, I haven't gotten up to look.

News:

Aaah, assume you all have heard about USHER's (my favorite R&B singer) 11 year old stepson is brain dead due to being hit in the head by a jet ski.  He was in an inner tube on the water with another 15 year old who was also injured, but not fatally and the jet ski jumped overhead.  So, sad.  So, young.

Did you hear about a Wisconsin basketball coach who punched a teenage girl player in the face and threw her to the ground after a loss.  He said he was defending himself because he was the victim.  Really???  Well, of course he was arrested and charged with battery.

Also, I heard on the Steve Harvey show this morning that there was a potential airline fee proposal for those who want to exit the plane first.  Honestly, I might pay that one willingly.

Oh well, meet you at the blog again.  C ya

Hi everyone or those who read this,

It's late and I just finished eating chipolte.  It was really too much food, but I ate it all and am way too full now.

OK, to back track I saw the BET awards...hmmmm, wasn't too impressed.  I thought last year's was good because Kevin Hart is so funny.  He was a great host.  Samuel Jackson...not so much.  He's a good actor, but not for BET  (well, my opinion anyway).  There was an excessive amount of profanity.  It seems most of the show was bleeped out.  Whitney Houston's tribute was nice.  It brought tears to many eyes.  Oh well, this is the end of my thoughts for the day.

Meet you at the blog again soon.  Good night.

Hello, hope everyone had a great holiday.  Mine was cool.  I just grilled at home with family.  I didn't see the fireworks, but I heard them.  I don't know about anyone else, but doing the youtube video was pretty interesting.  I should definitely be a part of social media for business promotion alone because it's free.  So, thank you to Professor Smith.  Well, I just got home and am little tired tonight so, this will be short and sweet.

News:

A lifeguard in Miami got fired for saving a man's life (well not literally), but because it was out of his zone.  How ridiculous is that.  However, he was offered his job back which he declined.

George Zimmerman's bail was set at 1 million dollars...OK.

In Waco, Texas a 22 year old man high on synthetic marijuana drug k2 beat, strangled, bit and ripped the flesh out of medium black dog who was killed from the incident.  He is charged with cruelty to animals (felony).  That's a crazy incident.

Meet you at the blog tomorrow.  C ya

July 4th

Aaaah, we are one day away from the celebrated and anticipated July 4th holiday.  It was created for declaring independence founded in 1776 from the Kingdom of Great Britian.  I have read that the Declaration of Independence wasn't actually signed on the the 4th.  Who knows?  I am not a history scholar so, if I have incorrectly stated any facts, please forgive me.

What I do know is......it is celebrated with cookouts, friends and family, fireworks and government and (I think) private firms offices are closed.  I am looking forward to a grilled hotdog.  That is the only way to eat it with cole slaw and mustard.  I can't wait!!   Oh, and potato rolls.  YUMMY.... but I am also reminded of something else about July 4th.

In African American Literature (Professor Gledy Wareibi) I learned about a speech made addressing the celebration of a freedom in the US and what it meant to the "African American" race who were still under the chains of slavery.  His name was Frederick Douglas.  This is the most famous passage from his speech spoken on July 5, 1852:

"What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer; a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sound of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciation of tyrants brass fronted impudence; your shout of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanks-givings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy -- a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation on the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of the United States, at this very hour."

He found the celebration to be hypocrisy.

Well, enjoy your holiday and celebrate what the day means to you.  Let's meet at the blog again soon.
